Enter here the type of document to be found. By default, all types are selected. Unlike the original site, N-Lex allows only one choice in this field. This may sometimes be deactivated because of instability on the original site.

This allows document searches on the basis of the order of publication: documents are published with a serial number which starts again from 1 each year.

Enter here a number with one to four digits, followed by the year (e.g. ‘485/2004’). To make a search on the year alone, you can use this field in the form */YYYY (e.g. ‘*/2004’), but in that case it is simpler to use the document date. Conversely, ‘485/*’ will supply documents 485/2004, 485/2003, 485/2002, etc.

NB: do not use this field at the same time as the document date field: if you do, even if the year is the same, the system is likely to report zero hits because of the presence of incompatible criteria.

This is the date on which the document was promulgated, not its date of publication in the Official Journal.

Enter at least the year under ‘from’ (four digits) and then, to narrow down the search, the month and possibly the day (two digits each). You can also enter a time range, i.e. a period between two dates.

Examples:

the whole year 2003: enter only the value ‘2003’ for the year under ‘from’;

from January to March 2003 (i.e. from 1 January to 31 March inclusive): enter ‘2003’ under both ‘from’ and ‘to’ for the year, and ‘01’ (do not forget the 0) under ‘from’ and ‘03’ under ‘to’ for the month;

from 5 to 10 January 2003 inclusive: enter ‘2003’ under both ‘from’ and ‘to’ for the year, ‘01’ under both ‘from’ and ‘to’ for the month, and ‘05’ under ‘from’ and ‘10’ under ‘to’ for the day.
